What do I need to do to register?
How can I use my registration badge?
Practitioners listed on the VAGP Register are invited to display the appropriate VAGP Registration Badge on their website, email signature, or promotional materials.
The badge identifies the practitioner as a current member who is listed on the VAGP Register as a Registered Gestalt Therapist or Registered Gestalt Supervisor.
Badges may only be used while the practitioner’s registration is active. If registration lapses or is withdrawn, the badge must be removed from all materials.

Primary and secondary registration
Some VAGP registrants will not have other relevant professional registrations, so their primary registration will be with the VAGP. If a person raises a concern about the professional conduct of registrant who has primary registration with the VAGP, then the VAGP will follow the pathways and processes outlined in the Concerns, Grievances, and Complaints Policy.
The VAGP recognises that Gestalt therapists have diverse professional backgrounds, with many also identifying with related professions, including counselling and psychotherapy more broadly, social work, psychology, psychiatry, and mental health nursing. If VAGP registrants are already registered with a closely-related professional association – including the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) – then their registration with VAGP will be their secondary registration. If a person raises a concern about the professional conduct of a registrant who has secondary registration with the VAGP, then these concerns will be directed to the registrant’s primary registration organisation. Compared with primary registration, secondary registration incurs lower registration fees.
