About Sarah
Sarah Black is a Gestalt psychotherapist and a firm believer in the power of connection: with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us. She knows this from her own time on the other side of the therapist's chair.
With more than thirty years across government, private and not-for-profit sectors, including international aid and community development, Sarah understands how people adapt to pressure, how culture and systems shape us, and how easily we lose touch with ourselves when we're just getting through the day.
In sessions, she invites clients to slow down and notice what's alive in their body, emotions and thoughts, and in the relationship between therapist and client. Rather than labelling what's "wrong", she gets curious about how each person experiences their world, helping them find their own direction from the inside.
Sarah works with adults experiencing anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties, burnout and life changes such as parenthood, separation or career shifts. Her approach is trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming and welcoming of all backgrounds, identities and relationship structures.
Sarah sees clients in person at Lygon Therapy in Carlton North and online. No referral is needed, and Medicare rebates aren't available.
